Nominate for a SoACE Board position today

The Southern Association of Colleges and Employers offers opportunities to contribute to the association and profession by serving on the Board of Directors. Today, October 11th, is the last day to nominate a colleague or yourself for one of the available open Board positions. Below are testimonials from previous and current SoACE leaders sharing their experience and benefits of serving on the SoACE Board.

“Due to a resignation before or soon after the first SoACE Board was formed, I was fortunate to be asked to serve in the President Elect position from the employer side of recruiting. The opportunity to serve with and learn from the exceptionally talented Board Members of our organization as well as the other ACE’s across the country was a wonderful experience that I cherish to this day.” Donnie Brown- Tindall Corporation (retired)

“Serving in a leadership role provided an opportunity to give back to the profession I love by helping to shape this important association and our future work. Working with such talented professionals to envision and realize impactful change was what I enjoyed the most.” Tim Harding- The University of Tampa

“I pursued a leadership role in SoACE because I love being involved and giving back to an association that seeks to better its membership.I have really enjoyed building relationships with my peers from across the region through collaborating with them on the board and other committees.” Charlie Wilder- Auburn University

“At this particular point in my career, I was looking into leadership opportunities with my current company, so being in a leadership role within SoACE allowed me to develop leadership skills and talents that I firmly believe moved me from my individual contributor role (at that time) to the leadership role I hold now. Many of the people on the Board were people I knew, but I knew them in a different context, so it made it even easier to reach out to them when I now knew them beyond just a career services professional / employer relationship.” Wayne Hampton- Disney Campus Recruiting

“SoACE leadership was to bring people together to achieve a common goal to educate, inspire and inclusively grow for the SoACE organization.” Jay Killough- Texas Tech University

“Serving on the board for SoACE was honestly one of the most valuable professional experiences of my career. My goal going in was to be able to give back and contribute to an organization that has been such a supportive force over the years. However, the experience gave me the greatest opportunity to learn, grow, and to develop deep relationships with other career professionals I now consider dear friends.” Jessica Cates- Texas Christian University

“Ability to give back to SoACE, an organization that does so much to educate and connect professionals in the college recruiting field. Hard to pick just one but will have to say the opportunity to build stronger relationships with my SoACE colleagues.” Kelly Lerch- Enterprise Holdings
