SoACE Kudos: October 2018 Edition

Every other month, we do a call out for SoACE members to submit their anonymous Kudos to colleagues that have gone above and beyond in the office, as part of a professional association, or in other ways that make life better for others.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Career Services
Way to go, ERAU Career Services, for hosting the largest Industry/Career Expo this year! What a great team effort to accomplish! You rock!

North Carolina Central University Career and Professional Development Center
To a wonderful team that continues to go above and beyond. Kudos for making each student and employer event special and well run. You all are AWESOME!

Ayshia Green-Calloway, Auburn University Career Center
Huge shout-out to Ayshia for pulling together the employer relations team and working so hard this semester in making sure our employers and students have the best experience they can have…while very short staffed.

Marissa  Miller, Auburn University Career Center
Huge thank you to Marissa for jumping in and being a rock star career counselor midway through the crazy semester. Her energy is contagious and our students and staff are lucky to have her. She rocks!

Sarah Hobgood, Christopher Newport University
Great job planning the Career Fair!

Lauren Burmester, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Kudos to Lauren Burmester for hosting a pilot panel during Fall Expo, giving ERAU flight students a chance to learn about multiple opportunities all at once. Great job!

Alicia Smyth, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Kudos to Alicia Smyth for dependable leadership and for exuding grace under pressure, always! Fall 2018 was especially lively with last minute changes, to which she not only adapted but led the team through with her typical generosity of heart and spirit.

Alicia Smyth, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Alicia has been putting together incredible blog posts for SoACE. She has been incredibly supportive of the KGs and our new transition to Slack. Thank you for being a SoACE champion, Alicia.

Christopher Anderson, Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University
Christopher has been absolutely amazing this semester! He has stepped in, stepped up and filled the gaps our office has experienced this semester. I appreciate all of the work that he does and the passion that shows in assisting our students. Thank you, Christopher! Our office would not have survived the semester had it not been for you!

Emily Roth, Jacksonville University
Emily just orchestrated the most successful Career Expo in the history of Jacksonville University. Well done Emily!!!

Laura Summers, KPMG
Laura has done a PHENOMENAL job leading managing the campus recruiting efforts for KPMG at UF! I got to see her in action first at the Hough graduate school Professional Development Day and her energy, enthusiasm, and knowledge were truly impressive. Keep it up, Laura!

Audrey Kee, MTSU Career Development Center
This was Audrey’s first year spearheading our Fall Career Fair and she did a phenomenal job! She delegated tasks to each staff member in the office, secured 150 employers, and overall organized a very successful event!

Ray Rogers, St. Edward’s University
Thank you for everything you have done – and continue to do – for SoACE for all of these years. Your leadership, smart ideas, hard work, and dedication is appreciated and so much of who we are as an association is because of you.

Alex Smith, St. Edward’s University
Kudos to Alex Smith for leading the career center’s efforts in developing and launching an A+ pre-law advising program. Our students and alumni thank you!

Jessica Thomas, UCF Career Services
My colleague, Jessie, has done an awesome job putting together the Lunch and Learn and the Women in Stem programs this semester! She is a rock star!

Travis Then, UNC Greensboro Career Development
Big congrats to Travis Then for his leadership during our annual Etiquette Dinner. You led our team to great success, and managed it well during the same week as a rescheduled career fair! Nice work!

Lindsey Martin, UNC Greensboro Employer Relations
Lindsey – you did it! You organized and executed our Fall Career Fair twice! You managed the reschedule with grace, and helped our team stay positive during what could have been a frustrating time. Thanks for making us all look so good!

Shanae Giles, University of South Carolina
Kudos for your excellent leadership with the successful Gamecocks Get Hired Career Fairs!
